About the Technical Assistance Program
The goal of the FYSCP Technical Assistance Program (TAP) is to support the collaboration and interagency coordination of services with local child welfare offices, school districts, and community partners, so that students in foster care in California will have thoughtful access to resources and supports, improved graduation rates, improved school attendance, and increased school stability.
The FYSCP TAP team provides:
Subject matter expertise to the county office FYSCPs in support of continuous improvement efforts
Support that fosters collaboration among county agencies through coordination and interagency agreements which address school stability and information sharing
Guidance and support to increase the capacity and willingness to gather meaningful data and strategic analysis processes
Online meetings and resources shared among county FYSCP coordinators in order to enable support for school districts and community stakeholders
In-person regional and statewide meetings to ensure the spread of best practices related to the education of students in foster care
Relevant training on trauma-responsive practices for schools
