The Role and Responsibilities of the FYSCP Coordinator: Fundamentals

Description: This webinar is for FYSCP Coordinators who are new to the role or those who would like to ensure they are completely familiar with the responsibilities and requirements of their role. This webinar will also offer opportunities to ask questions and identify areas of needed support for the upcoming school year.

FYSCP Community of Practice #2

Description: The Foster Youth Services Coordinating Program (FYSCP) Community of Practice (CoP) is a casual meeting space open to all FYSCP Coordinators and FYSCP program staff. The meeting is to connect with FYSCP colleagues and members of the Technical Assistance Program (TAP) team to discuss relevant and valuable topics important to the FYSCP community. An FYSCP program is also selected for each meeting to share and highlight their work with attendees. 

Topics for this CoP will include overcoming challenges when providing direct services to youth in STRTPs and Social-Emotional Learning skills (strategies and/or resources). Orange FYSCP will also share an overview of their program.

CDE Fiscal Training for FYSCP and AB 130 Grantees

Description: The California Department of Education’s Grant Administration and Support Office is excited to announce a fiscal training for FYSCP/AB 130 grantees. Our focus will be on Expenditure Reports and Budget Change Requests. Program staff will also provide an overview of allowable expenses. We ask that at least one fiscal and one program contact from your agency attend this training. The focus will be on Expenditure Reports and Budget Change Requests.  Upon completion of the training, you will have learned how to:

- Justification for Late Expenditure Report Form

Maximizing AB 130 Direct Services Funding in Rural Counties

Description:  In this interactive 90-minute webinar, participants will learn strategies for expending AB 130 Direct Services funds in rural areas.  Participants will gain an understanding of the unique challenges faced by rural systems and ways to address them.  We will spotlight rural County Offices of Education who are finding innovative ways to maximize their direct services dollars. Breakout discussions will allow participants the opportunity to share with others and discuss barriers and solutions. This webinar is open to FYSCP staff, other school staff, and community partners.

Accessing Early Education and Supports for Young Children in Foster Care

Description: Accessing early education, supports and entitlements for children ages 0-5 can be confusing and challenging, especially in areas where resources are limited and waiting lists long. This webinar will provide information on supports that are available to this high needs population and how to access these supports. Topics will cover state and federal funded Pre-K, transitional kindergarten, Head Start and Early Start. Discussion will also include entitlements such as school of origin and transportation.  This webinar is intended for FYSCP staff.

FYSCP Regional Meetings 

Regional meeting attendance is a grant requirement for all FYSCPs. The meetings are intended for the FYSCP primary coordinator contact. Additional FYSCP staff may attend as needed. The FYSCP coordinator should attend the meeting for their designated region whenever possible and may attend one regional meeting for each fall and spring session.


Please register at least one week prior to your meeting date. Click on the registration link for each meeting to view location details and suggested hotels.
