Linking Data to Practice Series: School Stability

Description: In this interactive 90-minute webinar, participants will receive information and tools to support school stability and success for students in foster care. In particular, the presenters will highlight federal and state law, describe special considerations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and share tools and resources both to support school stability, and to measure outcomes. Targeted break-out discussions will provide an opportunity for participants to share questions and feedback about supporting school transportation, improving collaboration around quality best interest decisions, and how to measure the impact of policies and programs to support stability. Rural Strategies & Supports Webinar Series: Foster Youth Transportation

Description: In this interactive 90-minute webinar, participants will learn strategies for providing school transportation to foster youth in rural areas. This training will offer an overview of school of origin transportation planning requirements under ESSA and the importance of ensuring the educational stability of students in foster care. Participants will gain an understanding of the unique transportation challenges faced by rural systems and strategies to address them. The presenters will highlight ideas for rural school transportation using existing student transportation, interdistrict and interagency coordination, and other creative approaches. FYSCP Trauma-Informed Practices for Schools Trainings


Trauma-Informed Response to Addressing Human Trafficking in Schools and Its Impact on Students in Foster Care

Description: This training will help participants use a trauma-informed lens to better understand how human trafficking impacts students in foster care and other vulnerable student groups. Participants will learn strategies and tips to address the needs of students affected by trauma and human trafficking and prevent it in schools. They will receive resources and other valuable materials to educate parents, caregivers, and others who support students. The target audience for this event is educators and others working with students in foster care, but it is open to anyone.

Intro to Trauma-Informed Practices Part 1

Description: This training will provide participants with an understanding of trauma, its prevalence and impact on students and families, and what it means to be trauma-informed. Participants will learn about strategies for working with students affected by trauma. It will contain specific examples of how it impacts students in foster care but will provide valuable and practical tips for all students dealing with childhood trauma.

Trauma-Informed Self-Care for Educators
