End-of-Year Report for FYSCP and AB 130 Direct Service Funds89

Description: The 2022-23 FYSCP End-of-Year (EOY) Report is a requirement for all Foster Youth Services Coordinating Programs and will include questions specific to FYSCP and AB 130 Direct Service funds. TAP and CDE staff will review the report content, submission process, and the CDE's bi-annual report to the legislature. This webinar is for FYSCP staff only.

FYSCP Coordinators and designated staff responsible for the EOY report and related data are strongly encouraged to attend one of the sessions below.

Bringing Youth Voice into Rural FYSCPs


Presenters: Meagan Meloy & Bogette Covarrubias, Butte COE; Butte Youth Advisory Council Members

Description: In this interactive 90-minute webinar, participants will learn strategies for engaging youth in rural areas. Participants will gain an understanding of the unique challenges faced by rural systems and ways to address them. Butte County youth will share the story of how our Youth Advisory Council was developed. Participants will also learn tips for how to meaningfully include youth in decision making processes. Breakout discussions will allow participants the opportunity to share with others and discuss barriers and solutions. This webinar is open to FYSCP staff, other school staff, and community partners.

Trauma-Informed Practices: Responding to Human Trafficking in Schools

Presenter: Kim Faulkner-Camacho, LACOE/TAP & Dr. Lakeah Dickerson, LACOE

Description: This training will help participants use a trauma-informed lens to better understand how human trafficking impacts students in foster care and other vulnerable student groups. Participants will learn strategies and tips to address the needs of students affected by trauma and human trafficking and prevent it in schools. They will receive resources and other valuable materials to educate parents, caregivers, and others who support students.

1-2-3 Wellness Connected Community Series

You deserve to be supported. Heard. Seen. Appreciated….and learn wellness tools. Connected Community monthly sessions are an EXCELLENT opportunity to connect with other passionate, hard-working colleagues while learning powerful self-care tools to support your impactful work as an FYSCP, teacher, administrator, or counselor. FYSCP TAP offers these 2022-2023 Zoom sessions in partnership with 1-2-3 Wellness on the fourth Wednesday of each month.

During our Connected Community sessions, we'll learn powerful well-being tools, stress reduction techniques and brainstorm solutions to practical issues. One-on-one coaching is also available.

You’re invited to attend as many or as few Connected Community Sessions as you’d like. You are welcome to share or simply listen.

Sessions are from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on these dates:

1-2-3 Wellness Adult-Self Care Experience39

Presenter: Dr. Drew Schwartz

Description: This powerful wellness experience involves three half-days in October 2022 and is open to ALL County Office of Education staff, teachers, counselors, principals, and other CA professionals who support student success. Each person will learn simple, yet game-changing wellness tools, receive amazing resources and be guided to create their own personalized self-care plan. Together, we’ll learn daily stress reduction techniques, self-care tools, research-based approaches to social and emotional learning (SEL), co-regulation, self-compassion, processing thoughts in healthy ways and more. Please note that hundreds of educational professionals have participated in this experience over the last two years and offered very positive feedback.

Foster Parent and Caregiver Adult-Self Care Experience

Description: This powerful wellness experience is for foster parents and caregivers because YOU deserve wellness too! The opportunity involves three 1.5-hour workshops. Each person will learn simple, yet game-changing wellness tools, receive amazing resources and be guided to create their own personalized self-care plan. Empowered Behavior: How to Transfer Responsibility for Behavior to Youth

FYSCP Regional Meetings

Regional meeting attendance is a grant requirement for all FYSCPs. The meetings are intended for the FYSCP primary coordinator contact. Additional FYSCP staff may attend as needed. The FYSCP coordinator should attend the meeting for their designated region whenever possible and may attend one regional meeting for each fall and spring session.
