CDE Fiscal Training for FYSCP and AB 130 Grantees

Description: The CDE Grant Administration and Support Office is hosting a beginner to intermediate fiscal training for FYSCP/AB 130 grantees. The focus will be on the FY 2022−23 fiscal forms, various resources, and other important information. The CDE would like at least one program contact and one fiscal contact from each FYSCP to participate.

After completing the training, you will have learned how to:

Rural Strategies & Supports Webinar Series: Building Capacity for Foster Youth Services in Rural Schools

Description:

In this interactive 90-minute webinar, participants will learn capacity building strategies for foster youth services in rural schools. Participants will gain an understanding of the unique challenges faced by rural systems and ways to address them. District-level Foster Youth Liaisons will share their experiences with designing structures of support at their school sites for purposes of improving education outcomes for foster students. Breakout discussions will allow participants the opportunity to share with others and discuss barriers and solutions. This webinar is open to FYSCP staff, other school staff, and community partners.

Linking Data to Practice Series: Tutoring to Support Students in Foster Care

Description: This webinar will provide an overview of national and CA data on academic achievement for students in foster care and highlight tutoring as one type of intervention that can support improved academic outcomes. National examples will be highlighted, as well as San Diego’s Tutor Connection program. Particular attention will be paid to evaluation strategies being used to measure impact. Participants will have an opportunity to share information about what tutoring programs exist in their jurisdictions, and discuss implementation successes and challenges, particularly in light of the COVID pandemic. This webinar is for FYSCP staff only.

FYSCP Regional Meetings

Regional meetings are intended for the local FYSCP coordinator in each county. Additional FYSCP staff may attend as needed. The FYSCP coordinator should attend the meeting for their designated region when possible and may attend one regional meeting for each fall and spring session.

FYSCP Statewide Meetings

Statewide meeting attendance is required for all FYSCPs. The meeting is for the FYSCP primary coordinator or designated FYSCP staff only.
