Introduction to Trauma-Informed Practices Part 2: Building Resilience

This training is a follow-up to Introduction to Trauma-Informed Practices for Schools (Part 1). It will provide participants with an understanding of how to use a trauma lens to build resilience in students. The training will address the needs of all students; however, it will focus on specific strategies that relate to improving the outcomes of students in foster care. Trauma-Informed Self-Care for Educators

This workshop will help participants understand the importance of self-care and wellness from a trauma-informed lens. It includes strategies and tools needed to create a self-care routine and prevent compassion fatigue and burnout during a pandemic. Participants will engage in specific activities that will aid them in identifying signs of burnout and develop an action plan to alleviate stress and create a manageable work-life balance. This event is open to COE and district staff.

Trauma-Informed Response to Addressing Human Trafficking in Schools and Its Impact on Students in Foster Care

This training will help participants use a trauma-informed lens to better understand how human trafficking impacts students in foster care and other vulnerable student groups. Participants will learn strategies and tips to address the needs of students affected by trauma and human trafficking and prevent it in schools. They will receive resources and other valuable materials to educate parents, caregivers, and others who support students. This event is open to COE and district staff.

Trauma-Informed Practices Virtual Training of Trainers (2-Day Event)


This 2-day virtual training will prepare participants to provide training and capacity-building on the topic of trauma-informed practices. They will learn how to teach the material to others, direct them to resources and other pertinent materials, lead discussions, respond to participant questions, and facilitate activities to keep participants engaged. This event is open to COE and district staff.

Regional meetings are intended for local FYSCP coordinators or designated FYSCP staff within each region. FYSCP coordinators should attend the meeting for their designated region when possible and may attend one regional meeting for each fall and spring session.
