FYSCP Community of Practice (CoP)

The Foster Youth Services Coordinating Program (FYSCP) Community of Practice (CoP) is a casual meeting space open to all FYSCP Coordinators and FYSCP program staff. The meeting is to connect with FYSCP colleagues and members of the Technical Assistance Program (TAP) team to discuss relevant and valuable topics important to the FYSCP community. An FYSCP program is also selected for each meeting to share and highlight their work with attendees.

The Role and Responsibilities of the FYSCP Coordinator: Fundamentals

Foster Youth Educational Rights 101

FYSCP Technical Assistance Provider Request for Applications Webinar

Foster or Not? Understanding the LCFF Foster Youth Definition, the CALPADS Foster Match and Identification Best Practices
Presenters: Bridget Stumpf, SCOE TAP & Izamar Ortiz-Gonzalez, CDE Foster Youth Data Liaison
Description: Explore definitions, tools and best practices supporting foster youth identification for school district and COE programs. Students in foster care are often difficult to identify because they are highly mobile, and their data can be complex or seemingly unavailable to education partners. In this webinar participants will review the CDE Foster Youth Definitions Chart, the CALPADS foster match process and related data systems. Participants will also explore troubleshooting strategies and best practices for aligning data between multiple systems. This event is open to FYSCP staff and school district foster youth staff.

Trauma Responsive Schools: The Four Pillars Virtual Training Series

FYSCP Regional Meetings
Regional meeting attendance is a grant requirement for all FYSCPs. The meetings are intended for the FYSCP primary coordinator contact. Additional FYSCP staff may attend as needed. The FYSCP coordinator should attend the meeting for their designated region whenever possible and may attend one regional meeting for each fall and spring session. The primary FYSCP Coordinator contact must download the Notice of Designee Participation for Required Event Form and send a completed copy to the CDE team at fosteryouth@cde.ca.gov if they are not attending a required event.
